Complete Installation Manual for Front Doors (Security Doors)

 

I. Pre-Installation Preparation

 

一. Tools List

 

Impact drill, M10-M12 expansion bolts, spirit level, measuring tape, wooden wedges, expanding foam, neutral weather-resistant adhesive, screwdriver, pry bar, utility knife, hammer

 

二. Product Inspection

 

1. Verify that the door model, size, and opening direction match the order.

 

2. Inspect the door frame and door leaf for any dents, deformation, or paint peeling.

 

3. Inventory of accessories: door lock, handle, hinges, weatherstripping (some accessories are already installed on the door).

 

三. Door Opening Acceptance Standards

 

1. Door opening net width/height: 10-20mm larger than the outer perimeter of the door frame for installation clearance.

 

2. The wall is solid, without loose or hollow areas; diagonal error ≤5mm.

 

3. Floor tiling/flooring completed, uniform elevation

 

II. Standard Installation Steps

 

Step 1: Clean and level the doorway

 

Step 2: Position and square the door frame

 

1. Place the door frame into the doorway, temporarily securing it with wooden wedges around the perimeter.

 

2. Use a spirit level to check horizontality and verticality: verticality error ≤ 2mm/m

 

3. Measure the two diagonals; a difference ≤ 2mm is required for squareness.

 

4. Leave a uniform gap around the door seam.

 

Step 3: Bolt fixing (core specification)

 

• ≥ 3 fixing points on each side of the door frame, evenly distributed vertically.

 

• Use screws for wooden walls, expansion bolts for concrete walls, and extended expansion tubes for brick walls.

 

• After tightening, double-check verticality and squareness to prevent door frame deformation after tightening.

 

Step 4: Sealing and filling gaps (key to waterproofing and sound insulation)

 

1. Clean dust from the gap between the frame and wall, evenly inject flame-retardant polyurethane foam, filling fully.

 

2. After foaming and curing, cut off any excess foam.

 

3. Apply weather-resistant silicone sealant (waterproof) to the exterior side, and neutral sealant to the interior side. The sealant width should be ≥8mm, with no gaps or bubbles.

 

Step 5: Door Installation and Testing

 

1. Two people work together to hang the door and tighten the hinge screws.

 

2. Adjust the hinge eccentric screws to ensure a uniform 3-4mm gap around the door.

 

3. Opening and closing test: Smooth opening and closing without friction, no self-opening or self-closing, opening angle ≥90°.

 

Step 6: Lock and Hardware Installation and Testing

 

1. Install the lock body and lock cylinder, and install the inner and outer handles.

 

2. Test all locking points and the multi-lock system; the bolt extension and retraction should be smooth.

 

3. Install the sealing strip, splicing at 45° diagonally, with no warping edges.

 

Step 7: Final Inspection and Finished Product Protection

 

1. Remove the wooden wedges and repair any wall damage.

 

2. Clean the door's protective film, adhesive residue, and dust.

 

3. Delivery and Acceptance: Verticality, door gaps, locks, and waterproof sealing all pass inspection.

 

III. Installation Error Acceptance Standards

 

1. 1. Door frame verticality: ≤2mm/m

 

2. Door frame horizontality: ≤2mm/m

 

3. Diagonal difference of door opening: ≤5mm

 

4. Gaps between door leaf and door frame: 3–4mm, uniform

 

5. Door frame fixing points: at least 3 on each side

 

6. Sealant without cracks or breaks, exterior completely waterproof

 

IV. Common Installation Taboos

 

1. Do not fix only at the top and bottom points, as this will cause the door frame to loosen and deform later.

 

2. Do not leave the foam filling incompletely or only apply sealant to the surface (this will lead to leaks and poor sound insulation).

 

3. Do not install directly into hollow areas in the door opening wall; repair them beforehand.

 

4. Do not forcefully tighten expansion screws, as this will cause the door frame to bend and the door gaps to become uneven.

 

5. Ordinary glass sealant cannot be used outdoors; weather-resistant sealant must be used to prevent rainwater penetration.
